Expressions_800
Vinelife is a worshipping church and we embrace the freedom and joy as displayed in the Scriptures.  Those who are unfamiliar with these expressions might be curious while worshipping with us.  Here are some things you might see or experience in our worship gatherings with supporting Scriptures.

  • Clapping of hands & audible praise to God (Psalm 47:1; Psalm 104:33; Psalm 108:3)
  • Musical instruments & dancing (2 Samuel 6:14; Psalm 150:3-5;2 Chronicles 5:12, 13)
  • Waving of flags and banners (Psalm 20:5, Isaiah 62:10, Psalm 60:4)
  • Lifting of hands (Psalm 63.4: Psalm 134:2; Lamentations 2:19;1 Timothy 2:8)
  • Praying for others through the laying on of hands & anointing with oil (Mark 16:18; Mark 6:13; Acts 9:17; Acts 28:8; James 5:14)
  • Some “fall back” when they experience God’s power (2 Chronicles 5:14; John 18:6; Matthew 28:4; Revelation 1:17; Acts 9:4; Acts 22:7)
  • Speaking and singing in tongues and in English or your native tongue (I Corinthians 14:14, 15)
  • Interpretation of tongues and prophecy (I Corinthians 12:10; John 4:19;1 Corinthians 14:1, 3-5, 13, 22-25, 27, 31, 39)
  • Speaker calling out a “word of knowledge”. For example, “Someone has a pain in their left knee.” (I Corinthians 12:8; John 4:17, 18; Acts 5:3)
  • Laughter (Acts 2:28; Romans 14:17; Romans 15:13)

The Pastoral Staff, Elders, & Teaching Team work together to discern God’s heart and the proper order for each of our gatherings.  As we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, we will continue to shepherd and teach to maintain unity, freedom, and health in the Vinelife community.
