How did you come to know Jesus? Born at a Christian hospital, then attended Christian kindergarten through college; with everything in between.
One of your proudest moments? When my children accomplish the impossible through God.
What inspires you? Strong-willed people and challenging circumstances.
Who inspires you? Those I care for and love.
What makes you laugh? Corny jokes and animal behaviors.
What’s a current indulgence for you? Sushi, always sushi.
What are you passionate about now, that you used to not care about? Gardening
What’s something new that you’re learning in your job that has surprised you? How coffee drinkers are getting younger and younger.
Your idea of a perfect day? Waking up and having your body feel your mental age.
What’s currently in your CD player? Celine Dion, Seal, and more oldies but goodies to sing along with family in the car.
Your childhood ambition? Since 14, always wanted to be a psychologist.
Your first job? Modeling in Tokyo.
What is your greatest memory? Birth of each of my children (minus labor pains, of course).
What is your favorite movie? Inspirational ones like Forrest Gump or military themed like Private Ryan.
What do you look for in a close friend? Trustworthiness, sincerity, candidness, accountability, humor, spiritual.
What’s something new that you’ve learned about the Bible lately, that has surprised you? It amazes me how every subject is covered!
What do you think makes a good leader, someone that you’ll follow? Fairness, trustworthiness, shares your vision and advocates on your behalf, directional clarity, goal-oriented, confidence.
Your favorite snack? Japanese chili crackers with peanuts.
If you were given an extra hour in a day to do whatever you want, what would you do? Call a loved one.
What is something that most people don’t know about you? I’m a doctor, but these days my “patients” call me “Mama.”
What’s one goal you have for the next year? See more of the world.
What have you read recently that really inspired or excited you? The promise of a Pencil: A story of an inspiring young future Wall Streeter opening 200 schools for the under-privileged.
What is your definition of a retreat? Removing one’s spiritual self from the ordinary to focus on the extraordinary.
What has God been showing you lately that has surprised you? He can read my mind and answer prayers even before I pray about them.
What’s your biggest challenge? Trying to not simply complete, but thoroughly fulfill goals each day.
Your most recent purchase? A bulldog butler coffee table (totally unnecessary, I know).
What’s God doing in your life that you are celebrating right now? Giving me opportunities to make a difference in our community.
