My brother and sister in law invited me to come. It was Palm Sunday 1992, the first day the present Sanctuary opened for services.
The Lord asked me to.
I started praying with Sharon Alpers who was leading the Elijah House video school in prayer ministry.
I have joined intercessory prayer groups, the woman’s ministry, 24/7 prayer and worship events, the River and Freedom ministries.
Baptizing my youngest son Michael as a Pastor here at Vinelife
The secrets of God’s heart. The chocolate éclairs at Town and Country Village in Sacto, CA. God’s creation, especially the ocean and birds. Natural history. Cosmology. The island of Kauai especially Hanalei and the NaPali coast. Sitting up at Flagstaff Mountain early in the morning and letting the Presence of God move over my heart.. Experiencing the burning sensation down your throat of a fizzy Coke filled with crushed ice. The very tangible “one accord” that happens in the Spirit while worshipping and seeking God.corporately. Watching the face of someone whom God has just spoken truth to. Recognizing the ways of God.. Identifying Jesus in the face of others. The shout of one who has just been freed from sin.
Mike Bickel’s obedience to wait on the Lord for worship and prayer, Mother Teressa revelation of love, King David’s heart, Esther’s wisdom and trust in God; Isaac Newton’s ways of looking at things, Stephen Hawking’s stubbornness, Graham Cooke’s humor in the truth of our condition, Beth Moore’s passion for the word of God and her imagination of how it might have been, Oswald Chambers insight and revelation of God, survivors of severe abuse tenacity to navigate and make sense in the face of their chaotic inner world, Vivian Thomas’s humility and integrity and passion in pioneering heart surgery. Billy Graham’s righteous and upright life, William Wallace’s leadership, courage and risk taking, William Wilburforce’s perseverance, integrity, and love of justice; Abraham Lincoln’s eloquent honesty and humility and leadership, Luther’s conscience, Martin Luther King Jr. eternal perspective; Madam Guyan shameless pursuit of intimacy and her courage to write about it. Amy McPherson’s obedience. Stephen Spielberg’s ability to capture the truth of the heart on film Peter Jackson’s attention to detail, Rick Joyner’s visions, John Wimbur’s determination to “do the stuff” Bill Johnson’s courage to believe. My Grant’s straight up heart and extraordinary ways, my daughter Julie, worshipping, my son Christopher’s diplomacy; my son Michael’s heart, my team’s violence in going for the Kingdom of God and my Pastor’s desire for the Kingdom of God.
Experiencing the veritable manifest essence of God. The birds outside my window. My entire Freedom team but especially Carla and Roderick. Cruising large ocean swells in a boat with dolphins leading the way. The expressions on faces while answering the question: How is that working for you? Roller coasters. God speaking to me through license plates. Bogy boarding in San Diego or Bellows Beach. Climbing into bed at night and pulling up the covers.
Crushed ice!
Other people’s freedom
Praying with people all the day.
The varied ways to communicate but more importantly that I must learn them to let love reach.
Well you asked – it involves some time/transportation in the Spirit but it goes something like this: Waking up to the sight and sounds of whales outside my cabin window in Alaska’s pristine air and then poof sitting down to eat breakfast at Karen’s in the Country in Louisville especially her strawberry cheese blintzes then poof again soaking in the Presence of God with his people all the day in prayer and inquiry on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem and then poof watching the sunset at the Princeville hotel in Kauai. Followed by a drive up the coast with the top down and wind in my hair and the stars all clear and glistening while worshiping to the latest Passion CD and probably a coke with crushed ice in it. The evening closes with a camp out on the beach gazing at those stars with down pillows and bare feet in the sand and the sweetness of His Presence. Anyone interested?

To be a princess
The Red Barn fast food restaurant on Canyon Blvd which no longer remains
It is one I had in the Spirit: Seeing Jesus throw His head back while laughing after I stood proclaiming His promises to me in the face of the enemy’s taunting.
The Princess Bride
Straight up heart talk and a passionate pursuit of God
Mark 5 The demoniac fell down and worshipped Jesus before they spoke. In Isaiah 6 the often quoted and very familiar scripture I saw the Lord seated on His throne and His train filled the temple… The question he asks at the end of that chapter How long O Lord? Until the cities are laid waste and without inhabitant, the houses are without a man, the land is utterly desolate….A tenth will be in it and will return and be for consuming…..the holy seed shall be its stump. WOW! That Holy seed is in us. It is for consuming. Like Joel 2’s army.
A good leader possesses an eternal perspective and vision for the sphere of influence given to him/her and feels God’s heart toward the people he/she leads all the while depending on God’s grace and His government while moving toward it.

Intimate fellowship of the Holy Spirit and others and a coke with crushed ice!
That He really trusts us to make a stand for justice.
My youngest son when he was young laying back on me as we are laying by the Boulder Creek his hands behind his head saying yes…this is the living Mom.
The human heart!
Watch the sunset
I love science and I have an accounting degree!
That is really hard as so many have inspired me but right now I would have to say Mother Teresa… she told God she wanted to love Him like no else has.
